QUESTIONS
Hey Neil,
Can you ask the archivist and the web wizards to sort out a few issues with Oceanside Countryside?
- It doesn't appear on the timeline in 2025 when show by release date is selected.
- When you go to the album view and click on the small image of the front cover it doesn't show you larger versions of all the artwork for it. All the other albums do this.
- The credits still say Nicolette Larson, vocals, even though she's not on it.
It's the nerd in me that wants to see these details corrected.
Thanks!
No problem
I will address these tomorrow at our NYA mtg

LAKEFIELD
Neil, I certainly appreciate that you're the benefit show in Lakefield, but I'm sure you know that the cost is prohibitive to many of your fans. I have no issue with this, especially with the nature of this specific show, but would you consider doing more solo acoustic shows in the future? Specifically in Ontario?
The idea with this is to raise a lot of money for the project…..
Not yet (RE ACOUSTIC SOLO SHOWS IN ONTARIO)

CRAZIES
Hello there to the NYA Team & Neil,
Daily, I've a beautiful view of the “Crazies," an absolutely gorgeous and craggy mountain range. I came across this and wanted to share it with Neil.
"Now be brave and fight for what you love." The elders say that one of Crazy Horse's war cries was: "Maka ki ecela tehari yanke lo.”
Translated means "Only the Earth lasts forever, Stronghearts to the front."
The Crazy Mountains, or the Crazies, as they’re often called, are a mountain range in the south-central part of the US state of Montana. Home to 29 named peaks, the highest and most prominent of which is Crazy Peak (11,178ft/3,407m), the Crazies are an isolated range within the greater Central Montana Rocky Mountains.
Hoping you'll share it with the "Crazy Horse" band members. Thanks for all each of you are doing in so many ways!
Cheers,
Dulaney

QUALITY SOUND
Hi Neil, Daryl and all at NYA,
I'm smiling as write this!
I watched the CES interview of you on the MUSIC Tab of NYA, in the article: What if were wrong about PONO?
You were spot on with all of what you said, and very fair, if someone doesn't want high res, let them listen to a compressed MP3, but if you want quality music you can feel, give PONO a try.
No harm done.
For reference, in 1982 I worked for loudspeaker manufacturer, Harold Beveridge, his model 2sw was revered to be the finest loudspeaker in the world, at that time. Sony knew this and sent one of the two first ever CD player for us to audition.
Oh, it was exciting.
We took the package from the delivery guy right into the sound room. With great anticipation we unwrapped it, put it next to the record player, hooked it up and while letting it warm up, took the demo disc out of its wrapping.
Bev (Harold Beveridge) pushed the drawer eject and out it slid. Popping in the CD, Harold smiling, he closed the tray and pushed play.
Anticipation, I did a drum roll on my knees. And after a few bars of music and comments of convenience, we all frowned, and Harold stopped the player asked what we thought of the sound. Unlistenable was the consensus. And the player came off the table wrapped back up and placed in its box to be shipped to the next manufacturer for audition.
To be fair, digital has improved much since 1982, but in my opinion its highest representation is not the standard and the record companies need to address this issue.
Thanks for PONO and the effort give Quality if you want it or not!
Peace, Love and Music!

LINCVOLT
Howdy Neil,
Can't wait to see you on tour this summer.
I have two pictures of Lincvolt I bought from Jay Blakesberg. I love 'em. In my mind, you invented the electric car—not Elon.
Anyway…
Regarding the exact spelling. Is the v capitalized, or is it lower case? Or is either case right?
Love ya Neil,
Lincvolt
Elon did not invent THE ELECTRIC CAR. he bought it from Martin Eberhardt, the first Tesla maker. The real guy.

UNDER A BLANKET
Neil , Daryl, and everyone at the Archives,
Wow! We live in scary, exciting times! Very happy to have you standing up and fighting for Truth and Justice, Neil. For a short while I was hiding my head under a blanket and trying to make believe that all the crazy things were not really happening. That didn't last, and I'm happy to say that this "ol hippie chick" is doing my part. It's different at our age, but still very satisfying to be working towards making a difference. The feeling of coming together with each other to work for the greater good is awesome!
Thank you for all that you do, checking in with you at the Archives is a daily pleasure. My husband and I will be watching "Coastal" this week. Also, we have plans in August to see you with The Chrome Hearts.
Please take care of yourself, don't overdo it. We all want to keep you around here for a long time.
As always with Much LOVE,
Auntie Jean

THE SHADOWS
Hey Neil,
I hope this letter finds you well.
My name is Ruari. I’m a guitarist and songwriter from London, England. I’ve been playing for 25 years now, and throughout that time, your music has helped me through some tough moments and has continually inspired me to develop a sound of my own.
For the past 11 years, I’ve been playing and writing music and, up until recently, sharing a life with a very beautiful and talented singer named Tess Parks. The first time we actually both met was at your concert in Hyde Park in July 2014. She grew up in Toronto, and her father attended Kelvin High School in Winnipeg which, she tells me, is the same school you went to. Small world!
A few years back, I watched a BBC documentary about your life and was surprised (and thrilled) to learn that you started out listening to and playing the music of The Shadows, my dad’s band. His name was Tony Meehan, and he played the drums. It honestly blew my mind, as I’ve admired your work for so long.
I’m not sure if you knew, but my dad passed away some years ago. Hearing you speak so fondly of The Shadows and knowing that their music helped shape yours, meant a great deal to me. There’s something truly powerful about how music can connect people across time and place. I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the influence you’ve had on me, both musically and personally.
Tess and I released an album last year called Pomegranate under her name. I’d love for you to hear the track “Koalas” — I think you might enjoy the open tuning on the acoustic and the catchy melody.
Your approach to songwriting, especially the emotional honesty and rawness in your lyrics has been a major inspiration as we try to create something meaningful and lasting of our own.
If this message finds its way to you, just know that your music continues to be a guiding light for so many, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything you’ve shared with the world.
With respect and admiration,
Ruari Meehan

I loved your dad’s band!

Hi Neil, hope you’re keeping well. Looking forward to seeing you in action in Dublin and Brussels in June.
I scored a Boss BF-1 on eBay last week. I’ve been goofing around with it on my Tweed Deluxe amp and it sounds amazing. Any chance you could share your settings with me?
Thanks

COASTAL BLURAY
Hi Neil and Team!
Is Coastal going to be released on DVD? I sure hope so for those of us who can’t make the theater release.
Neil we are in tough, crazy times. In many ways it feels once again like the turbulent times of the late 60’s and Nixon 70’s. Music is more relevant than ever. I’ve been turning to the music of protest and such from the era. Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Bob etc and of course YOUR songs, solo and with CSN. I’m looking forward to the new Chrome Hearts album. I’m sure it keeps that tradition of “singing out” alive. Keep up the fight. Keep your head high!! Thank you for the inspiration!
As Kris Kristofferson said “Don’t let the bastards get you down.”

VINYL
Hey Neil,
I just wanted to write you to tell you I'm grateful for the quality of your vinyl reissues. Everything from the sleeve to the record itself always look and sound great. It's nice that you take pride in making your albums sound as good as possible when a lot of newer pressings from other artists nowadays sound subpar to the originals. I most recently got the NYA ORS version of Rust Never Sleeps and it is by far the best sounding record I own. Sounds like you and Crazy Horse are here in the room with me. Thank you!
Going to see Coastal tomorrow night, too. I'm sure it's gonna be great.

I've bought all three of the Archives sets and would LOVE to see them posted. I'm sure plenty would agree. Thank you for putting the sets out--it's been an awesome musical ride!

Hi Neil and Daryl,
I just came back home from the local movie theater in Glasgow, and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed “Coastal.” I really loved every frame of it, and it was nice to see Micah's beautiful animation popping up during some songs, along with the lovely gesture to Bob D at the end. I’m surely going to watch it again and would love to have a Blu-Ray of it.
I’m so excited about the Euro tour! I’m already going to three gigs and am curious if there will be any Scottish dates added at the end. I’m still dreaming about having a vinyl signed by you, and maybe you could consider putting some signed copies at the merchandise desk for every show so they might end up in fans’ hands.
Love and only love,
Dror

Neil, I just got done watching Coastal at the theater. I enjoyed it immensely. Such a beautiful vibe to it. Daryl did a great job. So many beautiful scenes and shots. It was fun to be able to ride along with you in the Silver Eagle. I absolutely loved the song selections. It was nice to see Ben Young traveling with you. He always seems to be a really cool guy. I also loved those little touches Micah added to the film. I look forward to more films from you and Daryl. They’re always awesome. You two make a great artistic team. Looking forward to seeing you with the Chrome Hearts at Pine Knob in August. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Neil & Daryl,
Wow! I just returned from watching Coastal, with my 90 year old parents. We LOVED IT. It was so terrific in so many ways. I laughed and I cried. My brother, who loved your music and recently passed, would have been with us to see it, but I felt his presence. The whole movie was pure magic. From Love Earth sing along to bus riding with the pups, thanks for taking us along for the ride. It was a spectacular one. Keep sending the love.
