This album, recorded in late 2001, is a collection of songs that I recorded first with Crazy Horse in an album called ‘Toast’, that is unreleased at this writing (released 7-8-2022). I was not feeling good about those ‘Toast’ sessions with the Horse in San Francisco, although they do stand up now. The problems I had were mostly in my own head, it being a tough time of life for me.

Living in a San Francisco apartment at the time and not on the ranch, I was not a happy camper and things were starting to come apart in my family. I moved to a studio called ‘The Site’ in Marin County and started over again with Booker T. and the MGs.

Most of these songs were the same as Toast, and one was an actual out-take of Toast called ‘Goin Home’.

Booker T and the MGs are a great band and we played these songs over a few weeks time. Steve Pots on drums, with Duck Dunn on bass, Booker on organ. . . Poncho played guitar.

It’s one of the high points of my musical life to have played with these guys, although I’m not sure I did them justice.

‘Let’s Roll’ was a new song I had written after TOAST . . . . just after the destruction of the Twin Towers on 9/11.

I still remember watching that live on TV in that apartment.
