Larry Johnson was with me as I made this album, with its many videos and finally, a film. Larry was an ‘army brat’, he would say happily with his smile lightening the room. This album, the songs and the moment were all shared with Larry.
We had a website - LWW TODAY, where the videos we made for each song were located.
In our treatment of the war and the soldiers living through it, Larry was a guiding force, knowing first hand what it’s like to grow up in an army family. The songs on ‘Living With War’ are all straight-on the subject, written during the experience . . . as it played before us on the TV screens.
